The ARD-MINI Laser Methane Telemeter emits a laser beam that passes through a gas mass. When the laser interacts with methane gas, the gas absorbs the laser at specific wavelengths. The absorbed laser then reflects back through the object and returns to the telemeter. After data collection and processing, the concentration of methane gas is calculated. The concentration unit is represented by methane column density (ppm·m), which is the product of methane concentration (ppm) and air mass thickness (m).
